SSII’s “Made-in-India” MantraM Surgical Robot Unveiled in Gujarat
The initiative aims to democratize access to advanced surgical care, especially in regions where robotic surgery is not yet widespread.
SS Innovations International (SSII), a global medtech company, has unveiled its flagship MantraM “Made-in-India” surgical robot in Surat, under its nationwide robotic surgery yatra, an event held at Icon Hospital, Gujarat.
The initiative aims to democratize access to advanced surgical care, especially in regions where robotic surgery is not yet widespread.
The Surat initiative is expected to allow the doctors, medical students, faculty, and residents to interact closely with the MantraM system via the MantraM Mobile Simulation Bus.
The immersive experience included live demonstrations, expert training sessions, and hands-on exposure to key features of the Mantra 3.0 surgical robotic platform.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr. Anurag Nema, General Surgeon, Director, Icon Hospital, Surat, said, “This is a historic moment that showcases what’s possible when innovation meets purpose. About MantramM
The MantramM is designed for deployment in remote and underserved areas and is equipped with backup power systems, including onboard 5 kVA generators and external power compatibility, ensuring uninterrupted operations.
It features high-speed telecom infrastructure and satellite-enabled connectivity to support future telesurgery applications.
The vehicle has a 380-litre fuel tank for extended travel, a dedicated driver’s cabin, multiple access points, and a special ramp to facilitate the safe movement of surgical equipment.
