Siemens Healthineers has announced the expansion of its manufacturing footprint in India by local production of the Artis one Edition X angiography system at its Bengaluru facility.

The new system seeks to strengthen the company’s existing portfolio of locally manufactured medical imaging technologies, which includes mobile C-arms, computed tomography (CT) scanners, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) systems, and digital radiography X-ray systems.

The move aligns with the company’s vision of supporting the domestic production of medical imaging under the Make in India initiative and enhancing access to advanced healthcare technologies.

Commenting on the new launch, Hariharan Subramanian, Managing Director, Siemens Healthcare, said, “India's growth story is a testament to its immense potential in healthcare innovation. By expanding our manufacturing base, we are deepening our commitment to impact lives for the better, elevating healthcare with our expertise and vision to benefit both customers and patients across the nation.”

The Artis One Edition X system is designed as a compact solution to assist interventional procedures with advanced imaging capabilities and workflow efficiency while maintaining high clinical standards.

It enables clinicians to perform minimally invasive procedures for conditions such as heart disease, including blocked arteries and irregular heart rhythms, and kidney failure.

The latest expansion is expected to support the availability of interventional imaging systems across both metropolitan and emerging healthcare markets, while also supporting the broader localisation of medical device manufacturing in India.

Currently, Siemens Healthineers operates a nationwide sales network and 24/7 service infrastructure in India. Its presence includes two manufacturing facilities, one in Vadodara focused on diagnostics and another in Bengaluru dedicated to medical imaging, backed by an advanced R&D center and a global software development hub in Bengaluru.
