Healthtech Startup Clinics On Cloud to Deploy More than 2,000 AI Health ATMs Across Rural Maharashtra
Under the initiative, a hub-spoke model will be implemented, wherein Health ATMS installed in villages will perform as digital access points (spokes), seamlessly connected to hospitals, specialists, and diagnostic systems in urban areas (hubs)
Pune-based healthtech startup Clinics On Cloud has announced plans to deploy more than 2000 AI-powered health ATMS across rural and semi-rural regions of Maharashtra over the next two years.
The announcement follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Clinics on Cloud and the Sainik Shetkari Welfare Foundation.
The initiative is aimed at expanding access to primary healthcare services by bringing diagnostic and preventive healthcare closer to underserved communities.
Under the initiative, a hub-spoke model will be implemented, wherein Health ATMS installed in villages will perform as digital access points (spokes), seamlessly connected to hospitals, specialists, and diagnostic systems in urban areas (hubs).
This model is expected to reduce barriers to access, enable real-time consultations, and improve continuity of care while strengthening integration with the broader healthcare ecosystem.
The Health ATMS are designed to function as a smart digital clinic, capable of conducting more than 40 diagnostic tests within a few minutes.
The system is powered by AI and can generate instant health reports, enable teleconsultations with qualified doctors, issue digital prescriptions, and maintain secure cloud-based health records.
Additionally, the technology integrates multilingual, voice-enabled interfaces in regional languages to further ensure accessibility for diverse rural populations.
This feature is intended to support easy accessibility, including for first-time users with limited familiarity in navigating the system.
The deployments align with broader efforts to address disparities in healthcare access between urban and rural areas.
By combining digital infrastructure within local communities, the initiative seeks to improve early diagnosis, streamline healthcare delivery, and enhance overall health outcomes.
Apart from Maharastra the startup has been expanding its footprint across multiple states in India. Months ago, the healthtech startup also installed a Health ATM at a hospital in Madhya Pradesh.
Abhay Agarwal, founder and CEO of Clinics on Cloud, spoke about the urgent need to modernise rural healthcare and said, “India’s rural population often lacks access to timely diagnostic services, which delays treatment and increases health risks. Our Health ATM concept is designed to bridge this critical gap, bringing over 65 rapid diagnostic tests to the doorsteps of rural citizens.”
