SS Innovations’ SSi Mantra Receives Approval for Telesurgeries in Indonesia & Philippines

With the new approval, the company seeks to expand its global footprint and strengthen its position in the international market.

India’s leading medtech company, SS Innovations International, has recently secured regulatory approvals for its flagship Made-in-India Robotic Surgical System, SSi Mantra, in Indonesia and the Philippines, expanding its reach of remote robotic-assisted surgery in Southeast Asia.

The approval enables surgeons to perform procedures remotely using the SSi Mantra system, leveraging advanced robotic controls and telecommunication technologies.

The development is expected to enhance access to specialised surgical care, particularly in regions with limited availability of expert surgeons.

Further, the company also stated that more than 150 cumulative telesurgeries have been successfully performed utilising the SSi Mantra surgical robotic system, primarily in India.

Dr. Sudhir Srivastava, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of SS Innovations, commented, “We are thrilled to receive approval for telesurgeries utilizing the SSi Mantra in two new markets: Indonesia and the Philippines. We are also pleased to surpass the milestone of more than 150 telesurgeries successfully performed with the SSi Mantra, indicating that we are gaining significant traction in enabling state-of-the-art remote surgical care. The SSi Mantra’s advanced telesurgery capabilities empower the cross-sharing of physicians’ expertise and dismantle traditional geographical barriers to care, furthering our mission of driving equitable access to quality healthcare.”

The SSi Mantra Surgical Robotic System is a modular, multi-armed platform designed to perform minimally invasive surgery across specialties. It combines advanced features such as 3D visualizations, robotic precision, and real-time imaging to support complex surgical interventions.

With the new approval, the company seeks to expand its global footprint and strengthen its position in the international market.

In parallel, the company is also deepening its presence across India with the recently conducted robotic surgery in Kaizen Hospital in Ahmedabad using the Made-in-India SSI Mantra 3.0 Surgical Robotic System, connecting Gurugram and Haryana in real-time.
