Hyderabad-based Omega Hospitals has expanded its presence to Chhattisgarh through a strategic partnership with Raipur's Shree Medishine Hospitals
The collaboration involves the development of Omega Medishine Hospitals and plans to establish a comprehensive cancer care centre in the state.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai recently attended the launch programme at Amlidih in New Rajendra Nagar, Raipur, where he laid the foundation stone for the proposed cancer care facility.
Speaking at the launch, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that Chhattisgarh is emerging as an important healthcare destination in central India. He also welcomed investments in advanced medical facilities and emphasised the need to make specialised treatment accessible and affordable to people within the state.
The CM further expressed that the proposed facility would help address these challenges by improving access to advanced cancer care locally.
The partnership brings together Omega Hospitals' expertise in oncology and advanced cancer treatment with Shree Medishine Hospitals' established multispecialty infrastructure and regional presence.
The initiative aims to provide specialised medical services closer to patients in Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states, reducing their dependence on hospitals in major metropolitan cities.
The proposed Cancer Care Centre will focus on providing integrated cancer treatment services, including medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and haemato-oncology.
It also aims to improve early cancer detection, screening, molecular diagnostics, nutritional counselling, pain management, palliative care and psychosocial support.
The facility is intended to bring different stages of cancer diagnosis, treatment and supportive care under a coordinated healthcare system, reducing the need for patients to travel between multiple hospitals or cities.
Founded in Hyderabad in 2010 by surgical oncologist Dr. Ch. Mohana Vamsy, Omega Hospitals has developed expertise in cancer diagnosis and treatment, including medical, surgical, and radiation oncology, and has progressively expanded its services to other locations in India
The latest partnership expands regional presence for Omega Hospitals and is expected to strengthen specialised cancer treatment infrastructure in central India as the proposed facilities become operational.
