The Chief Minister also said the platform would eventually support up to 74 medical test categories.

Andhra Pradesh has announced the statewide expansion of the Sanjeevani project from August 15, strengthening its push toward technology-led public healthcare through AI Doctor integration, digital health records, and doorstep diagnostics.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the platform aims to shift healthcare delivery from “illness care” to “wellness care” through continuous digital monitoring and predictive treatment systems.

The Sanjeevani project was first introduced as a pilot in Kuppam before being extended across the Chittoor district earlier this year.

According to Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, the programme currently covers nearly 19.75 lakh residents in the district.

Speaking in Chittoor district during the project’s expansion event, Naidu said the State intends to build a healthcare ecosystem where diseases can be identified early and managed before they become critical.

Under the programme, medical teams will conduct dozens of diagnostic tests at people’s homes, with reports digitally stored and delivered directly to patients.

While some statements during the event referred to 42 doorstep tests, the Chief Minister also said the platform would eventually support up to 74 categories of medical tests.

The Sanjeevani card system is already being used for doctor appointments, virtual consultations, and digital health record management in pilot regions.

Highlighting the long-term roadmap, Naidu said Andhra Pradesh is preparing to introduce an “AI Doctor” model that could assist in medical consultations and continuous monitoring of patient records remotely.

“Under the scheme, 42 medical tests will continue being conducted at people’s doorsteps and stored as digital health records. Doctors would continuously monitor these records and provide preventive care. This monitoring may be taken over by an AI-enabled doctor soon,” he said.

The Chief Minister described Sanjeevani as the State’s “Citizen Wellness Mission,” adding that the platform is intended to function as a full-scale digital public health operating system rather than a standalone software application.

Naidu also reiterated the State’s healthcare spending commitments, noting that Andhra Pradesh has allocated INR 19,305 Cr for the health sector this year while continuing to expand coverage under NTR Vaidya Seva and related public health schemes.
