Allina Health & AssistIQ Join Hands to Deploy AI-Powered Supply Capture System in Operating Rooms
The technology automatically tracks and documents medical supplies and implants used during surgeries and procedures, aiming to improve charge capture, reduce administrative workload and strengthen inventory accuracy
Allina Health, one of the largest healthcare providers in Minnesota, has announced a partnership with AssistIQ to implement its AI-driven supply capture system across more than 100 operating and procedural rooms within its network.
AssistIQ’s technology automatically tracks and documents medical supplies and implants used during surgeries and procedures.
By integrating seamlessly with Epic’s electronic health record (EHR) system and Workday’s operations platform, the solution embeds real-time supply and cost data directly into both clinical and administrative workflows.
Reportedly, the platform provides hospitals and surgical centers with enhanced visibility into supply and implant usage across operating rooms (ORs) and procedural areas, which is expected to show greater accuracy in supply chain management.
Further, at the core of the solution is AIQ Capture, AssistIQ’s flagship product. Leveraging computer vision and machine learning, it is expected to enable the hospitals to capture usage data without the need for barcodes, RFID tags, GTINs, or special hardware.
As per the reports, early results have shown improved billing and charge capture accuracy while reducing the manual documentation on clinical staff, and enhanced inventory visibility and fewer supply discrepancies.
