Infinitus has partnered with IBM Consulting to implement agentic AI into specialty pharmacy workflows and other healthcare organizations.
The collaboration aims to streamline administrative and clinical tasks at scale, accelerating patient access to therapies and supporting adherence.
"By integrating Infinitus' AI agents with IBM Consulting's deep healthcare expertise, we are making it dramatically easier for patients to access life-changing treatments, guiding individuals through every step, around the clock, and eliminating the frustrating complexity that slows care," said Ankit Jain, CEO and cofounder of Infinitus.
He added, "This partnership is changing the economics of specialty pharmacy, freeing up staff and accelerating access to patients so that they can start and stay on therapy without delay. Our collaboration with IBM Consulting brings agentic AI into specialty pharmacy workflows, enabling 24/7 support and personalized guidance for every patient. We are not just streamlining administrative tasks; we are transforming how the industry delivers care at scale, helping more people access therapies faster and with less friction."
The alliance is designed to reduce cycle times for prior authorizations and benefit verifications, ensure patients access therapies and financial assistance promptly, and support safe, trustworthy AI deployment.
Recent moves in the healthcare AI space reflect a broader trend toward automation in pharmacy operations. In August, Develop Health, a benefits verification and prior authorization platform, raised $14.3 million in Series A funding to expand EHR-integrated AI tools for medication access. The company aims to enhance insurance verification and prior authorization processes and integrate with digital health partners and PBMs.
In June, Infinitus also expanded its partnership with Salesforce, enabling customers to use Infinitus’ voice AI agents for complex administrative healthcare tasks, including coverage verification for drugs and pharmacy or medical benefits. That same month, Mandolin secured $40 million to scale its AI-enabled workflow automation platform for specialty drug administration, focusing on intake, prior authorizations, benefits, and revenue cycle management.
Earlier in April, Infinitus introduced patient- and provider-facing voice AI agents, emphasizing trust in AI systems and around-the-clock access to curated healthcare expertise. In March, ASHP directors Gina Galanou Luchen and Scott Anderson noted that AI automation allows pharmacists to focus more on clinical activities and patient interactions by handling low-level tasks such as prior authorizations and EHR coding analysis.
