AIIMS-Raipur Launches AUSHADHI-ER Digital Drug Tracking System to Streamline Emergency Inventory

It plans to extend the system to track medical consumables and deploy it across other critical care areas, including the TICU and the Emergency Operation Theatre

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Raipur has unveiled a new digital drug tracking and inventory management system, AUSHADHI-ER, designed to enhance the availability, transparency, and operational efficiency of medicines in its Emergency Department.

The web-based system is designed to provide real-time digital monitoring of drug stocks, which is expected to enable clinical teams to track inventory usage and reduce discrepancies during high-pressure emergencies.

The platform also aims to replace the manual, paper-based registers with a precise automated process to streamline workflows.

The initiative is part of AIIMS Raipur’s in-house innovation programme, SRIJAN, which focuses on developing practical, technology-enabled solutions for hospital operations.

The digital platform was conceptualized by Dr. Debendra Kumar Tripathy and developed by Dr. Roshan Mathew and Dr. Naman Agrawal.

Further, AIIMS Raipur plans to extend the system to track medical consumables and deploy it across other critical care areas, including the Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU) and the Emergency Operation Theatre.

Commenting on the new initiative, Lt Gen Ashok Jindal (Retd), Executive Director and CEO of AIIMS Raipur, said, “AUSHADHI-ER translates frontline clinical needs into scalable digital solutions. He noted that such innovations improve transparency and patient safety, setting a benchmark for technology-driven improvements in public healthcare.”

Earlier this year, the institution signed an MoU with the Kumar Sahab Swargavasi Dilip Singh Judeo Government Super-Speciality Hospital, Bilaspur, to strengthen tertiary care in Chhattisgarh by integrating telemedicine services, increasing collaborative research, and expanding training for physicians and nurses.

Recently, the institution also received national recognition after becoming the first government hospital in central India to install a robotic surgery system.

The facility, named ‘Dev Hast’, was inaugurated by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and is aimed at expanding access to advanced surgical care and treatment.
