Nextech Unveils Next-Gen AI-Powered Tool to Streamline Clinical Documentation

Florida-based healthtech company Nextech has launched a new AI-based clinical assistant called Cora, along with its documentation feature Cora Scribe, designed to automate and streamline clinical documentation.
The AI solution seeks to support specialty practices such as ophthalmology, dermatology, and orthopedics by generating clinical notes from natural conversations between providers and patients.
The Cora Scribe tool is integrated directly into Nextech’s EHR platform, allowing two-way continuous conversations.
The plattoforms enables capture of clinical encounters in near real time and convert structured data into the appropriate fields without requiring separate dictation or manual entry.
The AI tool is designed to automatically review and update patient records, which is expected to minimize duplicate entries or inconsistencies across new and existing charts and further reduce the need for post-visit edits and administrative corrections.
In addition, the AI tool aligns documentation with provider- and practice-specific templates and configurations already integrated into the Nextech EHR, supporting existing workflow efficiencies.
The solution also incorporates secure, temporary audio processing and patient consent controls to safeguard sensitive information without disrupting the clinical encounter.
The company has already begun the initial deployment of Cora Scribe with plans for a broader release in April 2026.
Early users have reported improved workflow efficiency, including reduced after-hours charting and increased ability of providers to focus more on patient care during visits.
Currently, Nextech supports over 16,000 physicians and more than 5,500 practices across multiple specialties with its suite of clinical, revenue cycle management, and practice management tools.
The company was acquired by asset management firm TPG in 2023.
Going forward, the company aims to extend AI capabilities to additional administrative tasks such as orders, medications, and follow-up appointments to further streamline workflows in specialty practice.
