Fractal Unveils Next-Gen Healthcare AI Model to Advance Clinical Decision-Making

The new AI system is built on its existing AI portfolio, designed to provide reasoning capabilities and help in bridging the gap between raw health data and actionable clinical insights

Global AI and analytics company Fractal Analytics has launched its next-generation AI healthcare reasoning model named Vaidya 2.0 during the India AI Impact Summit 2026.

The new AI system is built on its existing AI portfolio, designed to provide reasoning capabilities and help in bridging the gap between raw health data and actionable clinical insights.

The model is trained to function as a Healthcare Operating System and extends support across multiple healthcare care, including Emergency Assist for rapid triage and decision system, Symptom Checker for citizen-facing seeking wellness guidance, and patient journey Assist to help manage the process from symptom onset through treatment adherence.

Additionally, the model includes features for Doctor Assist and administrative tasks designed to streamline clinical workflows and hospital operations.

As per reports, the model has achieved 50.1 on OpenAI’s HealthBench (hard), a benchmark making it the first AI model to cross the 50-point threshold on HealthBench (hard), which assesses performance across demanding clinical reasoning and health data tasks.

Further, the launch of Vaidya 2.0 aligns with the broader India AI mission, a government initiative investing over INR 10,300 Cr to scale sovereign AI capabilities tailored to India’s ecosystem.

The company said Vaidya 2.0 is the first in a planned series of verticalised foundation models tailored to address healthcare delivery challenges in emerging markets, particularly in the Global South.

According to the company, Vaidya 2.0 is the first in a series of verticalised foundation models it plans to build for healthcare and other sectors, including models designed to solve the unique challenges of the Global South, frugal, scalable, and impact-driven.

Commenting on the ongoing efforts for building digital infrastructure in India, Srikanth Velamakanni, Co-founder, group chief executive and vice chairman, Fractal, said, "India has built strong digital health foundations over the past decade, from ABHA health IDs to Ayushman Bharat and e-Sanjeevani. The next step is adding reliable reasoning intelligence to those systems.”

"When you combine India's digital health infrastructure with reliable reasoning AI, you unlock a new operating model for public health. At India's population scale, intelligence must be accurate, transparent, and accountable. That is the problem Vaidya 2.0 is built to solve,” he further added.

Founded in 2000, the company enables large global enterprises to harness data-driven insights and strengthen decision-making through end-to-end AI solutions built on deep technical, domain, and functional expertise.
