Xx-based Krish Biomedicals has announced the launch of the first manufacturing unit at the YEIDA Medical Device Park on September 22, marking a major milestone in India’s push for medical innovation and self-reliance.

The YEIDA Medical Device Park is North India’s first dedicated medical device manufacturing hub, developed by the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) under the Uttar Pradesh government’s Make in India initiative.

As per the YEIDA CEO, RK Singh, the company was allotted a 1,000 sqm plot in 2023 and has invested INR six crore to set up its plant.

The new unit is expected to produce a wide range of critical healthcare devices, including ultra-low temperature deep freezers that can maintain 86°C storage for vaccines, cells, tissues, and lab samples.

Other products in the portfolio include centrifuge machines for blood component separation, blood bank refrigerators, vaccine carriers, plasma thawing baths, platelet agitators, and cold chain refrigerators, equipment vital for blood storage, plasma extraction, vaccine preservation, and medical research.

Medical Device Park Expansion

So far, 89 plots have been allotted in the park. Lease plans have been released for 73, with 50 companies executing lease deeds and 36 taking possession of their plots.

Twelve firms have secured building plan approvals, construction is underway at eight sites, and five are awaiting clearance.

Earlier in April, a 150-acre extension was announced to accommodate more firms. YEIDA confirmed that 40 new companies have registered for investment within the park, many of which plan to focus on manufacturing devices for disease prevention and treatment.

The YEIDA Medical Device Park, developed under the Make in India initiative, is designed to be a hub for cutting-edge medical technology. It offers shared infrastructure, testing labs, and incubation support to accelerate innovation and reduce dependency on imports.
