The government has reportedly announced an investment of over INR 3,000 crore to enhance modern healthcare services and expand health infrastructure

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has directed the state's Health Department to develop a mobile application facilitating online payments for medical tests across government hospitals.

The initiative aims to promote digital health governance, streamline hospital operations, and reduce patient wait times.

The Chief Minister emphasized the need for the app to be developed within a month, in coordination with the Department of Digital Technologies and Governance.

Highlighting the importance of the initiative, a government spokesperson on behalf of CM Sukhu said, “The initiative aims to provide citizens with a convenient and cashless mode of payment, reducing queues and wait times at hospitals”.

“Once operational, the app will allow patients to pay for diagnostic tests online and also enable online appointment booking with doctors at various hospitals, ensuring smoother and more efficient healthcare delivery,” he further added.

Chief Minister Sukhu brought attention to ongoing reforms aimed at equipping medical colleges and hospitals with next-generation machinery to ensure that citizens do not need to seek treatment outside the state.

The government has reportedly announced an investment of over INR 3,000 crore to enhance healthcare services and expand health infrastructure.

With the development of this mobile application, the government expects to improve the efficiency of healthcare services in Himachal Pradesh, making medical services more accessible and user-friendly for the residents.
