Google Unveils Gemini-powered AI Health Coach for Fitbit & Pixel Watch Users

The service is available to Fitbit Premium users in the U.S. who use a qualifying Fitbit or Pixel Watch device on Android, with plans to expand to iOS users later.

Global Tech Giant Google has rolled out an early access version of its new AI-driven personal health coach, powered by the Gemini large language model and designed to integrate with Fitbit and Pixel Watch devices.

The device is designed to help Fitbit Premium users with a qualifying Pixel Watch or Fitbit device receive personalized fitness coaching, improve their sleep, and access a resource for health and wellness questions.

Reportedly, the service is available to Fitbit Premium users in the U.S. who use a qualifying Fitbit or Pixel Watch device on Android, with plans to expand to iOS users later.

On the fitness front, the AI health coach is expected to support users in setting goals and tracking progress by generating multi-week workout plans, providing exercise guidance, and adjusting its recommendations based on user feedback.

Moreover, the AI Health coach will provide in-depth analysis, personalized recommendations to enhance sleep quality, and insights into patterns and lifestyle correlations, allowing users to compare their sleep metrics with aggregated data from other users.

Further, the service allows the user to engage in a 5 to 10-minute conversation with the health coach via text or voice through their Fitbit or Pixel Watch, which is expected to help the AI understand a user’s motivations and goals, though it is optional.

The launch follows Google's earlier announcement of an AI-powered personal health coach for Fitbit, built on its Gemini model made in August.
