Fujifilm to Launch NURA Health-Screening Centers in 4 ASEAN Countries

The company with the help of Nura Health centers aims to enable comprehensive health-screening infrastructure in the region and facilitate early detection of cancer and non-communicable diseases in Southeast Asia.

FUJIFILM Corporation has announced an expansion of its ‘Nura’ health-screening service center across the ASEAN region.

The Japanese Company will establish 4 new centers in the South Asian Country region, which includes Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, followed by new facilities in Bangkok (Thailand), Manila (Philippines) and Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) by the end year 2025.

The move comes as non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as cancer, ischemic heart disease and diabetes continue to impose a significant public-health and socio-economic burden on the region, accounting for approximately 55% of all deaths in Southeast Asia and about 9.5 million deaths annually, half of which are in people under the age of 70.

Reportedly, the company aims to fulfil this gap with the help of Nura Health centers by enabling comprehensive health-screening infrastructure in the region and boosting early detection of cancer and non-communicable diseases in Southeast Asia.

Fujifilm’s health screening centers are equipped with medical systems, including CT scanners, mammography units, and AI-based medical IT tools designed to assist physicians in conducting screenings and tests for cancer and lifestyle-related diseases.

Further, the service enables users to complete all examinations and receive result feedback within approximately 120 minutes, during which doctors can review and explain the diagnostic images directly to the users, which is expected to provide clarity on the findings.

In 2021, the company opened its first NURA health screening center in Bengaluru, India.

Since then, NURA health screening centers, as well as those incorporating the expertise of NURA, have expanded beyond India to Mongolia, Vietnam, and the United Arab Emirates.

Within this fiscal year, new centers are planned for South Africa, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia.
