BPL Medical Tech Launches New App to Streamline OT Documentation
The platform digitally records patient vital signs from connected devices, tracks administered fluids and medications, and maintains post-surgery notes, ensuring accurate and comprehensive records
BPL Medical Technologies has launched its first OT charting app, BPL iCare OT, aimed at transforming surgical workflow and safety in operating theatres through digital innovation.
This next-generation digital OT app is built to streamline documentation, reduce manual paperwork, and enable data-driven decisions, thereby enhancing efficiency and safety in operating theatres.
It helps healthcare professionals in the operating room (OR) to efficiently manage and streamline documentation in the OT. The platform digitally records patient vital signs from connected devices, tracks administered fluids and medications, and maintains post-surgery notes, ensuring accurate and comprehensive patient records.
The software operates in integration with Anesthesia Work Station (AWS), enabling secure, scalable, and cloud-based data management.
Speaking on the launch, Dr Shravan Subramanyam, Managing Director of BPL Medical Technologies, said, “Managing operating rooms has always been a complex challenge, with clinicians balancing patient care alongside time-consuming manual documentation. With BPL iCare OT, we are addressing this challenge head-on. By digitizing workflow in an OT, the platform empowers clinicians to focus on patient care while hospitals operate more efficiently. This launch reflects our vision of creating a smarter, safer, and fully connected healthcare ecosystem.”
Key Features of The App
Automated Report Generation creates detailed records of all OT events and patient vitals that can be used for post-operative care and clinical audits.
Remote View for OT Prioritization & Scheduling allows Heads of Departments and senior surgeons to monitor multiple operating theatres simultaneously, track patient vitals, and make informed decisions based on the criticality of ongoing procedures.
OT Events Tracking feature captures every key surgical action, such as anesthesia induction, incisions, and catheter insertions, with precise timestamps, providing a thorough and accurate record of all procedures.
Advanced OT Analytics Dashboard, which provides insights into OT utilization, idle time, surgery durations, and surgeon performance for data-driven decision-making and optimized scheduling.
Structured Patient Data Storage securely organizes all surgery-related information such as vitals, case history, procedure details, and intraoperative events for easy retrieval, clinical audits, post-operative care, and medico-legal compliance.
