BPL Medical Technologies Boosts Indian-Made MedTech with AI-Enabled Diagnostics

The company recently opened a new manufacturing facility in Bangalore alongside its existing plant in Palakkad.

BPL Medical Technologies, part of the five-decade-old BPL Group, is expanding its presence in India’s medical technology sector by focusing on domestically manufactured medical devices tailored to the country’s clinical needs.

Known for developing India’s first in-house ECG machine in 1967, BPL has expanded its product portfolio to include cardiology, critical care, women's and children's care, imaging, home care, and medical accessories.

Since its establishment in 2013 as a dedicated medical technology entity, BPL Medical Technologies has prioritized accessible and technology-driven healthcare solutions for urban and rural markets.

The company recently opened a new manufacturing facility in Bangalore alongside its existing ISO 13485:2016-certified plant in Palakkad. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Bangalore facility, which aims to scale up the production of Made-in-India products that comply with international quality standards.

One key technological focus is embedding artificial intelligence directly into its X-ray machines. This innovation will enable smart diagnostic capabilities on the device itself, which is crucial for delivering quality healthcare in remote areas with limited or no internet access.
