Amazon One Medical Launches Telehealth Platform For Pediatric Care

The new service allows parents or guardians to connect with licensed clinicians through message-based or video consultations for common childhood conditions

Global virtual healthcare platform Amazon One Medical has unveiled a telehealth platform dedicated to pediatric care.

The digital platform provides pay-per-visit services for common health issues like pink eye, skin rashes, and asthma.

The new service allows parents or guardians to connect with licensed clinicians through message-based or video consultations for common childhood conditions for children between the ages of 2 and 11 years.

The service also includes EpiPen and asthma medication renewals.

As per reports, the message-based visits will be priced at $29, while video consultations will cost $49.

Further, the service does not require a One Medical membership, and prescriptions can be filled either through Amazon Pharmacy or the patient’s preferred pharmacy.

According to the executives of the company, the expanded virtual visits for children are expected to make healthcare more convenient and affordable for parents. The service provides medical advice for time-sensitive concerns between pediatrician appointments, without the need for an urgent care visit.

Bergen Elsa, general manager for Amazon One Medical Pay-per-visit, in a statement. “This service makes it easier for families to connect with trusted family care providers, day or night, saving time and money while providing peace of mind to parents and helping kids feel better sooner.”

Amazon acquired One Medical in February 2023 for 3.9 billion dollars, following which it had integrated Amazon Clinic with One Medical earlier this year.

The company, with this integration, aims to expand and streamline its telehealth services and ensure access to healthcare.
