Ultrahuman Raises $70 Mn to Develop New Human-Computer Interface for Health

With the latest investment, Ultrahuman plans to develop a broader human-computer interface aimed at processing signals generated by the body and connecting them with artificial intelligence and biological data.

Wearable healthtech startup Ultrahuman has raised $70 million in a funding round led by Qualcomm Ventures, with participation from Labcorp, Alpha Wave, Blume Ventures, Nexus Venture Partners, Alteria, and other investors.

The capital will support research and development across sensing technologies, artificial intelligence, miniaturised electronics, health algorithms and clinical science.

The startup further plans to expand beyond wearable health tracking into human-computer interfaces focused on health.

The startup’s platform combines data from multiple sources, including the Ultrahuman Ring, Blood Vision, M1/M2 Live continuous glucose monitoring, Ultrahuman Home, and its Jade AI system.

The technologies capture signals such as heart rate variability, skin temperature, movement, glucose levels, and blood-based biomarkers.

Its software layer is designed to bring these signals together to provide users with insights into areas such as sleep, metabolic health, and cardiovascular health.

With the latest investment, Ultrahuman plans to develop a broader human-computer interface aimed at processing signals generated by the body and connecting them with artificial intelligence and biological data.

Its approach involves developing sensing technologies that sit close to the body to capture continuous signals and connect them with deeper biological data.

It plans to leverage these advanced models, trained on real-world scientific data, to turn these signals into health insights.

Commenting on the latest development, Mohit Kumar, Founder and CEO r of Ultrahuman, said, “We want to change that. We are building an interface that can understand the body continuously and translate its signals into intelligence that is useful in everyday life. Not another dashboard and not simply more data. Something that can help a person sleep better, understand cardiovascular health, navigate fertility, and improve metabolic health.”

Ultrahuman has also expanded its focus on health research through initiatives such as Pulsomics, an opt-in platform that allows Ring users to participate in health studies. Existing programmes cover areas including sleep, VO₂ max and glucose metabolism.

Alongside its research initiatives, the startup has introduced several health-focused features including AFib Detection, Cycle & Ovulation Pro and cardiovascular fitness age.

Ultrahuman also offers PowerPlugs, which provide additional health-related capabilities to users of its platform.

By combining wearable devices, continuous health monitoring and research programmes, the startup intends to build a wider ecosystem around human health data, helping people better understand and manage their health.

Commenting on the latest development, Quinn Li, Senior Vice President, Qualcomm Technologies and global head of Qualcomm Ventures, said, “Ultrahuman is pioneering a new generation of personal AI devices that make personalized insights effortless. We look forward to supporting their journey as they expand the possibilities of personal AI devices.”

Founded by Mohit Kumar and Vatsal Singhal, Ultrahuman operates in the wearable health and digital health space.

The latest development comes days after the initial reports that the startup was planning to raise $60 million, based on earlier regulatory filings.

Prior to the round, the Bengaluru-based startup had raised $35 million in Series B funding and $17.5 million in Series A funding in October 2022.
