The update is headlined by UltraSphere, the world’s first wearable decision engine, which generates personalised “Next Best Actions” based on users’ health metrics.

Ultrahuman has launched the Emerald Update, its biggest-ever platform update featuring a redesigned app experience, the new UltraSphere decision engine, and improved heart-rate accuracy on its smart ring platform.

Rolling out globally from 23 July, the Emerald Update introduces new and overhauled features aimed at improving how users access and interpret health data. The update is headlined by UltraSphere, the world’s first wearable decision engine, which generates personalised “Next Best Actions” based on users’ health metrics.

Emerald brings a redesigned user interface with light and dark mode options, placing contextual and timely information on the Ring tab. Jade AI now has a dedicated tab, offering personalised recommendations by connecting data across sleep, movement, recovery, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), blood tests, and other health markers.

UltraSphere, integrated with Jade AI, generates more than 60 Next Best Actions focused on areas such as improving energy and alertness, winding down, and supporting restorative sleep. These actions use markers including sleep, recovery, HRV, skin temperature, cycle phase, movement, stress, and glucose data through Ultrahuman M1 or M2 Live.

The recommendations are location- and weather-aware, aligned with users’ circadian rhythms, and tailored to profiles including athletes, new parents, night-shift workers, and jet-lagged travellers.

"All wearable trackers generate data. Data is empowering, but people need something more than a number – they want to know what to do. The Emerald Update is focused on making data actionable, adding layers of biointelligence that finally answer the question of 'so what?' with context and insight at every layer," said Mohit Kumar, CEO of Ultrahuman.

The update also introduces on-device analysis for the Ultrahuman Ring, enabling users to access live health metrics, Next Best Actions, Dynamic Recovery, and Stress Rhythm Scores without connectivity.

Workout tracking for Ring PRO and Ring AIR has been rebuilt with improved automatic workout detection and tagging. Ultrahuman has also upgraded heart-rate algorithms, which have been validated against gold-standard devices across users and activity types.

The platform now allows users to track workouts through third-party devices, including Apple Watch, Garmin, WHOOP, chest straps, and AirPods Gen 3.

The VO₂ Max algorithm has also received an upgrade. Ultrahuman stated that its algorithm was validated in a study of over 100 athletes against gold-standard CPET lab tests and achieved results within 5 mL/kg/min of a lab test.

Additional Emerald Update features include Sleep Screener, Longevity Tab, Connections for sharing health data, Windows timeline, Live View, Today’s Activity summary, Contextual Science, Goals tracking, updated PowerPlugs, and enhanced on-device processing.

The Emerald Update is rolling out globally from 23 July and is available free to all Ultrahuman users.
