INTEGRIS Health to Join Risant Health Under Definitive Agreement

The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals and is intended to improve health outcomes and healthcare access in Oklahoma.

INTEGRIS Health, Oklahoma’s largest not-for-profit health system, has signed a definitive agreement to become part of Risant Health, a nonprofit organization focused on expanding access to affordable, value-based care. The agreement is subject to regulatory approvals and is intended to improve health outcomes and healthcare access in Oklahoma.

Risant Health was established to bring together healthcare organizations focused on value-based care and evidence-based approaches to improving patient outcomes. INTEGRIS Health would become the third health system to join the organization, following Geisinger and Cone Health.

“INTEGRIS Health’s expertise in complex clinical services, combined with its experience in value-based care, offers an opportunity to continue improving health and affordability for the people of Oklahoma,” said Greg A. Adams, chair and chief executive officer of Kaiser Permanente.

Headquartered in Oklahoma City, INTEGRIS Health operates a statewide network of 10 acute care hospitals and 10 specialty hospitals, along with physician clinics and urgent care facilities. The system has the state’s largest physician network and employs approximately 13,000 people.

INTEGRIS Health to Retain Name and Leadership

Under the agreement, INTEGRIS Health will retain its name, brand, medical staff and existing leadership team. Its mission will remain unchanged, and it will continue working with other health plans, healthcare provider organizations and independent physicians.

Timothy Pehrson, CEO of INTEGRIS Health, said joining Risant Health would provide additional resources, technology investments and value-based care capabilities to support its hospitals, clinics, physicians and nurses.

The arrangement is expected to give INTEGRIS Health patients access to expanded health management technology, tools and programs. Employed and network physicians will also gain access to integrated, value-based care solutions through Risant Health’s platform.

Risant Health Highlights Value-Based Care Results

Risant Health cited improvements across its existing health system network as examples of its approach to healthcare delivery. At Geisinger Community Medical Center, emergency department patients are receiving care approximately 60% faster on average following the implementation of its Care Without Delay program.

The organization also reported that its Value-Based Care Guides help primary care providers direct patients to appropriate treatment earlier, making approximately 490 additional specialist appointments available each month for patients with more complex needs.

At Cone Health, an Ambient Clinical Assistant has reduced the time clinicians spend documenting clinical notes per patient encounter by nearly 14%.

Risant Health also reported that Geisinger had achieved an operating margin improvement of nearly 1% from the benefits of joining the organization.

The agreement brings INTEGRIS Health into Risant Health’s broader effort to expand value-based care and improve healthcare delivery, subject to regulatory approval.
