Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that Hyderabad has shifted its focus to become a hub of innovation in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and medical technology.
He pledged that the state will provide end-to-end support for biodesign-led healthcare product development.
“For many years, our best minds were solving problems of other countries. Now we must use our intelligence to help our people,” Reddy said.
The CM further announced the government would make historical medical data available to innovators with strict privacy safeguards.
“We will connect you to academic institutions, research, innovation bodies, the Young India Skills University, and corporations,” he added.
The Chief Minister unveiled “Innovating for Bharat—The BioDesign” blueprint, a document outlining a five-year roadmap to strengthen biodesign initiatives and accelerate medtech innovation in Telangana.
The plan is part of the state’s broader “Telangana Rising 2047” vision. Reddy reiterated his government’s economic goals of transforming Telangana into a $1 Tn economy by 2034 and a $3 Tn economy by 2047.
He further pointed to Hyderabad’s growing life sciences cluster, which already attracts global and domestic investment across diagnostics, imaging technologies, implants, surgical equipment, and digital health.
He also highlighted the Sultanpur Medical Devices Park in Sangareddy district, spread over 302 acres and home to more than 60 companies.
The facility provides integrated infrastructure for research, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing, and is considered a cornerstone of the state’s medtech ecosystem.
Reddy said the government would act as a proactive partner for innovators, helping them take products from concept to market.
He emphasized that Telangana is committed to fostering an ecosystem where healthcare technologies are developed locally and made accessible to people across India and abroad.
The Telangana Chief Minister’s Office streamed the event live, and Reddy also shared updates from the venue through his official account.
