Philips Launches New CT & MR Innovations to Enhance Radiation Therapy Planning

Both systems are equipped with touchscreen gantry controls and remote collaboration capabilities and features aimed at improving workflow efficiency for care teams and staff.

Phillips, a global healthtech company, has unveiled its latest CT platforms, Rembra RT and Areta RT, featuring ultra-fast image reconstruction speeds of up to 106 images per second and an extended 85cm field of view.
These innovations are designed to enhance radiation therapy planning with improved accuracy, efficiency, and sustainability while reducing operational costs and improving patient experience.
The new Rembra RT and Areta RT systems aim to deliver faster and more accurate cancer treatment planning with the help of improved imaging consistency.
The systems support an extended 85 cm field of view and 4DCT imaging capable of capturing a full respiratory cycle, accommodating breath rates of 4-40 per minute.
Reportedly, both systems are equipped with touchscreen gantry controls and features aimed at improving workflow efficiency for care teams.
It also offers remote collaboration capabilities, allowing teams to plan and train without additional staff.
The Rembra RT includes shared-use radiology functionality, while patient positioning tables are designed to reduce waiting times.
Further, according to reports, Philips provides a “Tube for Life” guarantee and long-term service options.

The systems are expected to benefit directly by providing a high-performance table for flexible positioning, faster workflows that reduce shortening waiting times, and shared-use radiology capabilities on Rembra RT to maximize department efficiency.

Speaking about the innovation, Dan Xu, Business Leader of CT at Philips said, “Philips invented CT Simulation and introduced the industry’s first Big Bore RT system.”

“With Rembra RT and Areta RT, we’re once again setting new standards in radiation therapy, empowering care teams with the precision, dependability, and speed they need to deliver the best outcomes for patients”, he added.

In addition to this, Philips also introduced the helium-free BlueSeal RT 1.5T 70cm MR system in North America, powered by AI-based SmartSpeed Precise acceleration software.

The system enables MR-only simulation protocols within 10 minutes and features a lightweight, vent-pipe-free design for flexible installation options.

“BlueSeal RT is leading the way in MR for radiotherapy,” said Ioannis Panagiotelis, PhD, Business Leader MR at Philips.

He further added, “By combining helium-free sustainability with AI-powered acceleration, we’re enabling radiation oncology teams to plan and simulate with greater speed, accuracy, and confidence, while enhancing the patient experience.”
