Oura Acquires Galen AI to Unify Health Data & Accelerate Its AI-Powered Personal Health Platform

By integrating Galen AI’s infrastructure and expertise, Oura is aiming to deepen its ability to combine continuous biometric tracking from its smart ring with clinical data sources.

Oura has acquired Galen AI to strengthen its artificial intelligence capabilities, aiming to connect fragmented health data and deliver more personalized, real-time health insights through its growing digital health ecosystem.

Galen AI is a California-based startup founded in 2025 by Stanford graduates Viraj Mehta and Priyanka S. It develops an AI-powered platform that integrates medical records, lab results, medications, and wearable data into a single, secure system, and its team has now joined Oura.

By integrating Galen AI’s infrastructure and expertise, Oura is aiming to deepen its ability to combine continuous biometric tracking from its smart ring with clinical data sources.

The move aligns with its long-term strategy of transitioning from a hardware-focused company into a full-stack health platform that offers contextual and personalized guidance.

“As we shape the next era of Oura, we’re investing in world-class talent to help us push the boundaries of what AI can do for personal health,” said Tom Hale, CEO of Oura.

“Galen AI’s founders bring a rare combination of health domain knowledge, AI expertise, and product vision, strengthening our ability to deliver more personalized, more meaningful health insights to more people,” he added.

Galen AI’s founders noted, “We started Galen AI to help people make sense of fragmented health data and turn it into meaningful, everyday action,” said Viraj Mehta, co-founder of Galen AI. “From the outset, we saw an opportunity to make complex health information more accessible, personal, and useful.”

“Joining Oura allows us to bring that work to scale with a team that shares our commitment to clinical rigor and privacy,” said Priyanka Shrestha, co-founder of Galen AI. “We’re excited to work together to shape the next generation of proactive, AI-powered health experiences,” they added.

The deal builds on a series of recent acquisitions by Oura as it expands its capabilities across health domains. The company previously acquired Veri to move into metabolic health, Sparta Science to enhance performance analytics, and Doublepoint to explore gesture-based interfaces.
