Samsung Health Partners with Lark Health to Expand AI-Powered Prevention & Support for Older Adults
The planned expansion could provide eligible users with additional Lark programmes addressing cardiometabolic and behavioural health conditions, combining AI-powered guidance with clinical oversight and ongoing health tracking.
Samsung Health has partnered with Lark Health to expand access to AI-powered prevention and chronic-care support for older adults aged 65 and above in the United States.
The collaboration will initially introduce Lark’s Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program, with plans to extend access to additional technology-supported services for people managing chronic and behavioural health conditions.
“Our collaboration with Lark is a concrete step forward for Samsung’s Connected Care vision — starting with diabetes prevention today and expanding toward technology-supported chronic care that helps more older adults get the support they need, when and where they need it,” Dr. Hon Pak, Senior Vice President and Head of the Digital Health Team, Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, said.
Under the first phase, eligible Samsung Health users will be able to access Lark’s Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program (MDPP), an initiative designed for individuals at risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Eligibility requirements include having Medicare Part B and not having an existing diabetes diagnosis. Participants will receive AI-powered coaching, health tracking tools, clinical resources, and a cellular scale.
Samsung Health users aged 65 and older who do not qualify for MDPP may instead be offered Lark Prevention, a separate one-year programme available at no additional out-of-pocket cost. The company values the programme at $249 annually.
The collaboration is also expected to expand through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Innovation Center’s Advancing Chronic Care with Effective, Scalable Solutions (ACCESS) Model.
The planned expansion could provide eligible users with additional Lark programmes addressing cardiometabolic and behavioural health conditions, combining AI-powered guidance with clinical oversight and ongoing health tracking.
“Samsung Health gives us an opportunity to bring personalized digital health support to older adults through a platform they already use to manage their everyday health,” said Julia Hu, cofounder and President of Lark Health. “Together, we can help more people access proven prevention programs while building a foundation for ongoing, technology-supported chronic care.”
Lark’s digital programmes provide round-the-clock AI-powered coaching, interactive lessons and personalised feedback on nutrition, physical activity, sleep and stress management.
The company said its programmes have supported 2.5 million patients in incorporating healthier choices into their daily lives. Lark is also a provider of the CDC Diabetes Prevention Program and an authorised Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program provider.
Samsung Health was recently accepted into the Medicare App Library, which helps beneficiaries discover digital health applications. Its “Kill the Clipboard” initiative with b.well Connected Health has also received a Certificate of Recognition from CMS for achieving general-availability excellence.
Further details on programme availability and eligibility will be announced as the services launch.
