Max Healthcare & Medtronic Unveils Advanced Surgical Skill Lab in Delhi

The partners stated that the initiative is designed to enhance clinical skills, elevate surgical standards, and enhance patient outcomes.

Max Healthcare and Medtronic have launched a state-of-the-art surgical skill lab at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Saket, New Delhi, to train healthcare professionals in minimally invasive procedures.

The Max-Medtronic Skill Lab will deliver structured, hands-on training for surgeons, nurses, operating theatre staff, and paramedics. Programs will cover both basic and advanced laparoscopic techniques, with courses led by Max Healthcare faculty and supported by Medtronic.

The partners stated that the initiative is designed to enhance clinical skills, elevate surgical standards, and enhance patient outcomes.

“This lab marks a significant step toward creating a structured, high-impact training ecosystem that enhances skills and ultimately improves patient care,” said Dr Sandeep Budhiraja, Group Medical Director, Max Healthcare.

Medtronic executives said the collaboration underscores their focus on education-led healthcare improvement. “By working with Max Healthcare, we seek to empower healthcare professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to deliver better outcomes,” said Mandeep Singh Kumar, Vice President and Managing Director, Medtronic India.

The lab will also serve as a platform to educate patients and caregivers on the benefits of minimally invasive surgery, which typically allows faster recovery, smaller incisions, and fewer complications.

Senior clinicians from Max Healthcare, including Dr Pradeep Chowbey, Dr Vinitaa Malhotra Jha, Dr Subhash Gupta, and Dr Manish Baijal, attended the launch along with Medtronic’s regional leadership.

For Max Healthcare, the lab aligns with its broader emphasis on clinical excellence and continuous learning across its 17 hospitals and 5,000-plus beds. For Medtronic, the partnership extends its strategy of coupling technology with training to expand access to advanced procedures in India.
