Madhya Pradesh has strengthened the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) to expand digital healthcare access across the state, with a renewed focus on connecting citizens in remote regions through an integrated digital health ecosystem.

The state has already generated 5.86 crore ABHA IDs, registered thousands of healthcare providers, and expanded digital OPD services through the Scan and Share facility.

Reviewing the progress of the mission, Madhya Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said the state is committed to building a connected digital health ecosystem that delivers faster, transparent and quality healthcare services.

"The objective of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission is to develop an integrated and interconnected digital health ecosystem in the country. Through this mission, citizens are being provided with a unique digital health identity -- the ABHA ID enabling them to securely access and share their health records," Shukla said.

To accelerate adoption, he directed officials to speed up the registration of government and private healthcare facilities, along with doctors, nurses, dentists, AYUSH practitioners and other healthcare professionals.

He also emphasized strengthening training programmes, providing technical assistance and maintaining regular monitoring to ensure effective implementation.

"Our priority is to ensure that every citizen, including those living in remote areas, benefits from digital healthcare. Technology should make health services more accessible, efficient and transparent," Shukla said.

According to Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission CEO Arvind Kumar Shah, Madhya Pradesh has generated nearly 5.86 crore ABHA IDs.

The state has also registered around 20,000 healthcare facilities under the Health Facility Registry and nearly 18,000 healthcare professionals under the Health Professional Registry.

Officials said the HPR is creating a verified digital directory of licensed healthcare professionals, while the HFR is bringing hospitals, clinics, laboratories, pharmacies and wellness centres onto a common digital platform to support seamless healthcare delivery.

The state has also expanded the Scan and Share service to 533 healthcare facilities, where more than 1.07 crore digital OPD tokens have been issued.
