Mizoram gets Free Access to 35 Diagnostics with Clinics on Cloud's Health ATM
The Health ATMs can conduct tests ranging from blood pressure, BMI, and ECG to mental health checks.
Mizoram has taken a major step toward accessible healthcare by installing its first Health ATMs under the Healthy Lunglei Initiative, powered by healthtech startup Clinics on Cloud. The initiative has brought diagnostics directly to rural communities in Lunglei district.
Until now, residents often had to walk miles even for basic services like a blood pressure test. With the new kiosks, they can now access 35 diagnostic tests instantly and free of cost.
The Health ATMs have been set up at Civil Hospital Lunglei and PHC Lungsen. A Health ATM integrates a physical kiosk with telemedicine and point-of-care devices to deliver accessible and affordable healthcare.
Utilizing IoT technology, these kiosks can perform tests such as blood pressure, BMI, ECG, and mental health assessments. Further, these AI-driven Health ATMs are also capable of conducting a broad range of health evaluations, including advanced screenings for diabetes, cardiac conditions, and detecting infectious diseases like dengue, malaria, COVID-19, and HIV.
The system further generates instant digital health records and delivers them directly to patients’ phones.
“This is the kind of innovation-led accessibility that truly transforms healthcare. Our vision of ‘diagnostics at your doorstep’ is turning real in Lunglei,” said Manashrri Agarwal, Co-founder and MD at Clinics on Cloud, the technology partner.
The project has been made possible through a collaboration between the Mizoram government, the district administration, and CSR contributors, including MVS India, ABCI, and BRN.
“This is not the future, it’s happening today,” Manashrri added, highlighting how the partnership is bridging healthcare gaps.
Last month, the Pune-based healthtech startup announced the large-scale deployment of its AI-powered Health ATMs across underserved regions.
Abhay Agarwal, founder and CEO of Clinics on Cloud, spoke about the urgent need to modernize rural healthcare and said, “India’s rural population often lacks access to timely diagnostic services, which delays treatment and increases health risks. Our Health ATM concept is designed to bridge this critical gap, bringing over 65 rapid diagnostic tests to the doorsteps of rural citizens.”
Agarwal added that this comprehensive preventive health screening can be done in 10 minutes and can also help reduce medical costs.
