GE HealthCare Revamps Leadership, Launches AI-driven Imaging Unit to Accelerate Global Growth
Phil Rackliffe has been appointed President and CEO of AIS, and Catherine Estrampes has been named Chief Commercial and Growth Officer.
GE HealthCare has announced a major leadership overhaul and operational restructuring, including the creation of Advanced Imaging Solutions (AIS), a new segment aimed at improving execution, accelerating innovation, and expanding its AI-enabled healthcare portfolio globally.
By consolidating Imaging and Advanced Visualization Solutions into a USD 14.6 Bn segment, GE HealthCare is aligning its capabilities across modalities such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, molecular imaging, and image-guided therapies to create a more connected ecosystem spanning diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Phil Rackliffe has been appointed President and CEO of AIS, bringing nearly three decades of experience across global healthcare companies. In his previous role, he led innovation in AI-powered imaging systems, including advanced cardiovascular ultrasound and interventional technologies.
The new segment reflects GE HealthCare’s broader push to integrate smart devices, pharmaceuticals, and digital platforms under its D3 strategy, which leverages AI and cloud infrastructure to enable more personalized and data-driven care.
At the commercial level, Catherine Estrampes has been named Chief Commercial and Growth Officer and will lead Global Markets, a newly formed structure covering all regions except China. This change is expected to enhance coordination across markets and improve the delivery of GE HealthCare’s full portfolio to healthcare providers worldwide.
"Building on the progress we’ve made since our spinoff, we are simplifying how we operate and positioning ourselves to serve customers in a more integrated and differentiated way to enable growth and margin acceleration in 2026 and beyond,” said Peter Arduini, President and CEO, GE HealthCare.
“Phil and Catherine are proven leaders with strong track records of execution and the growth mindset needed to advance our precision care strategy globally, help improve patient outcomes, and unlock value for patients, customers and shareholders,” he added.
GE HealthCare, a USD 20.6 Bn enterprise with a presence in over 160 countries, is positioning this restructuring as a step toward faster decision-making, improved operational efficiency, and stronger alignment with evolving digital health demands, particularly in AI-driven diagnostics and precision medicine.
Over the past decade, GE HealthCare has invested in artificial intelligence, enterprise imaging platforms, and strategic acquisitions such as Caption Health and BK Medical, strengthening its capabilities in diagnostics as well as surgical and interventional care.
