The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Patna is exploring opportunities for strategic collaboration aimed at strengthening Bihar’s healthcare innovation ecosystem.
The initiative focused on exploring collaborations in healthcare innovation, MedTech entrepreneurship, startup development, translational research, skill enhancement, and technology-driven growth.
As per the institution, the initiative is aimed at positioning Bihar as a hub for healthcare innovation and entrepreneurship.
The visit was conducted under the leadership of Prof. (Brig.) Dr. Raju Agarwal, Executive Director & CEO, AIIMS Patna and Chairman, APIIC.
The delegation interacted with incubated startups, innovators, and Ignition Grant beneficiaries and toured the institute’s incubation facilities.
The discussion focused on strengthening partnerships among healthcare institutions, industry, academia, startups, investors, and policymakers to accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship in Bihar.
The officials highlighted the incubation council’s role in supporting healthcare startups, fostering innovation, facilitating intellectual property creation, and translating research into scalable healthcare products and services.
As per the healthcare institution, key areas of focus included MedTech, digital health, artificial intelligence, startup mentoring, skill development, and industry-supported research.
The discussions brought together clinicians, researchers, startup founders, faculty members, and industry representatives to explore ways to strengthen collaboration between healthcare providers and industry stakeholders.
Further, participants noted that stronger industry-academia collaboration is expected to translate research into affordable, scalable, and patient-centric healthcare solutions while generating employment and attracting investment.
In a recent development, AIIMS Patna with the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing to deploy AI-Powered Healthcare systems and reinforce Cybersecurity infrastructure.
This strategic partnership was formalised to integrate artificial intelligence across clinical services, hospital management and data protection systems.
