The UAE subsidiary will operate in the diagnostics sector and serve as a vehicle for strategic investments in healthcare-related businesses.
Dr Lal PathLabs has established a wholly owned subsidiary in Dubai, UAE, as part of its international growth strategy, with plans to pursue acquisitions, partnerships, and investments in diagnostics and allied healthcare services.
Founded in 1949, Dr Lal PathLabs is among India's largest diagnostic service providers, operating an extensive network of laboratories and patient service centres across the country.
Over the years, the company has expanded beyond routine pathology testing into specialized diagnostics, preventive health screening, genomics, and advanced laboratory services.
According to the company, the UAE subsidiary will operate in the diagnostics sector and serve as a vehicle for strategic investments in healthcare-related businesses. Its mandate includes evaluating acquisition opportunities, forming joint ventures, and developing partnerships that could support future growth in international markets.
The company noted that the entire share capital of the subsidiary has been subscribed through a cash investment, making it a fully owned overseas entity, and is yet to begin commercial operations.
The announcement comes as Dr Lal PathLabs continues to outline ambitious growth plans for the coming financial year.
Speaking recently about the company's outlook, Chief Executive Officer Shankha Banerjee said the diagnostics chain expects revenue growth of 13% to 15% in FY27, supported primarily by higher patient volumes and sample collections. The company has also projected EBITDA margins of 27% to 28% during the period.
Banerjee indicated that the company does not currently intend to increase prices and expects growth to be driven largely by operational expansion and a favourable mix of tests and geographic markets.
