GE HealthCare Deepens DeepHealth Partnership to Advance AI-Driven Breast Cancer Screening
The next phase of the collaboration will include ProFound Pro, a solution designed to detect lesions, automated breast density assessment solutions, and a Safeguard Review, an AI-enabled workflow that flags complex cases that may require secondary review
GE HealthCare has expanded its collaboration with RadNet’s subsidiary, DeepHealth, aimed at enhancing global access to AI-powered breast cancer screening solutions.
The partnership is built on an existing agreement announced in 2024, which focused on combining DeepHealth’s AI-powered Breast Suite workflow solution with GE HealthCare’s Senographe Pristina mammography system.
The initiative seeks to support healthcare providers with advanced tools for early detection of breast cancer while improving imaging workflows and diagnostic efficiency.
DeepHealth develops AI-based solutions designed to assist radiologists in identifying potential abnormalities in breast imaging.
By combining these capabilities with GE HealthCare’s imaging infrastructure, the collaboration aims to enhance accuracy and consistency in screening processes.
The existing Breast Suite solution offered by GE HealthCare includes a cloud-first multi-modality Viewer, Cancer Detection, Automated Density Assessment, prioritized Worklist, Timely Alerts, and enhanced reporting.
The next phase of the collaboration will focus on extending the use of breast cancer solutions internationally, expanding the offering with a second reader workflow, and extending access to components of DeepHealth’s breast cancer solutions.
As part of the expansion initiative, GE HealthCare will distribute new Breast Suite applications designed for compatibility with GE HealthCare’s mammography systems, including ProFound Pro, which combines Cancer Detection, a clinical AI solution designed to provide automatic lesion localisation and degree of suspicion that are effective in diverse populations and dense breast tissue.
In addition, the collaboration also includes an Automated Density Assessment that seeks to enable consistent, automated density classification with a patient-centric, accurate density assessment of 2D or 3D mammograms to support objective diagnostic decisions, as well as Safeguard Review, which is an AI-powered workflow that flags complex cases that may benefit from a secondary review, specifically targeting women with dense breast tissue.
Commenting on the new development, GE HealthCare Women’s Health and X-ray President and CEO Jyoti Gupta said, “At GE HealthCare, we’re advancing women’s health through precision care built around the unique needs of women and enhanced by the power of AI. By integrating Breast Suite AI with our Pristina Via mammography system, we’re helping clinicians detect breast cancer early with greater confidence. These innovations move us closer towards truly personalised prevention and care for women.”
