Fittr Moves Beyond Fitness, Bets on Diagnostics to Build Preventive Healthcare Network
The move into diagnostics is intended to close a critical gap by linking test results directly with medical advice and ongoing lifestyle interventions.
Fittr has announced a shift from being a fitness-focused platform to building a broader preventive healthcare ecosystem, with plans to invest up to ₹15 crore in diagnostic laboratories and integrate testing with medical consultations, coaching, and wearable-based monitoring to address lifestyle-related diseases.
Fittr, a Pune-based startup, has positioned this move as a response to the growing burden of non-communicable diseases in India, particularly as it completes a decade of operations.
Fittr founder and CEO Jitendra Chouksey said the platform is aligning its services around early detection and prevention rather than episodic fitness or nutrition interventions alone.
“We are moving towards a preventive healthcare ecosystem, where we are combining diagnostics with doctor consultations, along with coaching and wearable monitoring, to address one of the biggest pain points in the country today, which is the growing number of NCD deaths,” he said.
The expansion marks a significant evolution for Fittr, which earlier focused primarily on nutrition guidance and training services delivered through its network of fitness coaches.
Over time, the platform has increasingly leaned into data-driven health management, incorporating health assessments, digital coaching, and wearable integration. The move into diagnostics is intended to close a critical gap by linking test results directly with medical advice and ongoing lifestyle interventions.
Fittr has earmarked ₹10-15 crore to establish company-owned diagnostic laboratories in five major metro cities.
The Pune lab is already operational, while facilities in Bengaluru, Gurugram, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Mumbai will be rolled out in phases.
Alongside these owned facilities, Fittr plans to partner with existing diagnostic service providers to extend its reach into tier-two and tier-three cities, taking overall coverage to 5,000 pin codes across India.
On funding, Chouksey said Fittr is currently cash positive and will finance the ongoing diagnostic expansion internally.
For non-metro markets, Fittr has partnered with Healthians and is in discussions with additional diagnostics players to accelerate expansion. The company aims to blend physical lab infrastructure with digital workflows so that users can move seamlessly from testing to consultation and long-term monitoring within the Fittr platform.
