Fortis Healthcare has opened Adayu, a dedicated mental health hospital in Gurugram, strengthening its focus on structured and personalised psychiatric care.

The facility has been launched to address the growing demand for sustained and professional mental health treatment in India.

Adayu is a 36-bed in-patient centre designed as a specialised space for individuals requiring guided recovery. The hospital combines clinical expertise with a calming treatment environment and offers private healing areas along with programmes built around measurable outcomes.

The facility follows an integrated care model supported by multidisciplinary teams trained to manage a wide range of mental health conditions. Care pathways have been structured to support patients requiring continuous monitoring, therapy, and rehabilitation.

Fortis Healthcare has positioned Adayu as part of its broader effort to expand access to evidence-based and continuous mental health services, amid a national shortage of specialised infrastructure and trained professionals.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Ashutosh Raghuvanshi, MD & CEO, Fortis Healthcare said, “Adayu represents a transformative milestone in India’s mental healthcare journey, addressing a long-standing gap in infrastructure, investment, and systemic integration within the nation’s healthcare framework. More than a purpose-built in-patient facility, it signals the beginning of a broader evolution toward a stronger, more inclusive mental health ecosystem across the country, driven by Fortis Healthcare’s vision to enhance and expand its mental health program. The facility in Gurugram is the first in a series of dedicated mental health hospitals planned by Fortis.”

Dr. Ritu Garg, Chief Growth & Innovation Officer, Fortis Healthcare said, “Adayu combines clinical depth with innovation, using precision medicine through pharmacogenomics, neuromodulation, virtual reality based therapy, AI enabled platforms and tele-medicine. Bringing state of the art innovations in mental health, Fortis is tackling long-standing deficiencies in access and systemic support for mental wellness.”

Dr. Samir Parikh, Chairperson, Mental Health Program, Fortis Healthcare & Adayu said, “Adayu reflects our long-standing commitment to ensuring accessible, compassionate and evidence-based mental health treatment in India.”

Fortis Healthcare has stated that Adayu is aimed at bridging India’s mental health treatment gap, with a focus on acute psychiatry care, de-addiction, and rehabilitation.
