The doctor-users have contributed about 60% of the total funding, alongside entrepreneurs Vineeta Singh and Avnish Anand.
Docterz, a Mumbai-based healthcare technology startup founded by paediatrician Dr Atish Laddad, has raised INR 5 Cr from approximately 35 investors, including around 20 doctors who already use its platform.
The doctor-users have contributed nearly INR 3 Cr, accounting for about 60% of the total funding, alongside entrepreneurs Vineeta Singh, Co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics, and Avnish Anand, Co-founder and former CEO of CaratLane.
Founded over a decade ago, Docterz provides an integrated digital platform that helps doctors manage clinical records, appointments, billing, vaccination schedules, and patient engagement. The startup’s technology currently supports more than 5,000 doctors across India, with a strong presence in paediatric practices.
Docterz plans to use the INR 5 Cr to expand its operations organically, explore acquisitions and develop AI-enabled tools for doctors.
It also intends to increase adoption among independent practitioners, smaller clinics and healthcare organisations across India.
The startup is developing AI tools to support documentation, administrative workflows, practice data analysis and patient follow-ups, to help doctors manage routine operational responsibilities and improve the efficiency of day-to-day practice management.
Dr Dhananjay Sangle, a paediatrician and Docterz investor, said his decision to invest was based on his experience using the platform for several years and his confidence in its founder.
Vineeta Singh said customer participation in a funding round was a strong signal for a business, adding that doctors investing in Docterz reflected their trust in the platform and its founder.
Dr Suhas Warad, another paediatrician and investor, said technology designed around doctors’ needs could help them manage their practices more efficiently and devote more time to patient care.
