BMC Launches 100-Day Campaign to Boost ABHA Registrations, Digital Health Services in Mumbai

Medical Health Officers will oversee implementation, while Assistant Commissioners and Deputy Municipal Commissioners will monitor progress across administrative divisions.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched the Mumbai DigiHealth Connect campaign across all its administrative divisions, bringing ABHA registration and digital health services closer to residents through hospitals, clinics, ward offices, and community centres.

The 100-day campaign, commencing on October 2, will also facilitate the issuance of Ayushman Vay Vandana Cards to citizens aged 70 years and above.

As part of the drive, the civic body will register its health institutions on the Health Facility Registry (HFR) and eligible healthcare professionals on the Healthcare Professional Registry (HPR). Doctors, nurses, AYUSH practitioners, pharmacists, physiotherapists and other eligible professionals will be encouraged to complete their registrations.

The campaign will also seek to expand the use of digital services aligned with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM). These include Scan and Share for outpatient registration, e-prescriptions, e-discharge summaries, digital laboratory and radiology reports, electronic medical records, and hospital management information systems.

The BMC will implement the campaign in three phases. The first will focus on awareness, training officials and volunteers, and preparing campaign materials.

The second will drive large-scale ABHA registrations through municipal hospitals, clinics, Aapla Dawakhana centres, maternity homes and ward offices, along with outreach at schools, colleges, housing societies, markets, slum settlements and ration shops.

Special registration camps will also be conducted at BMC headquarters and administrative offices for civic employees and their families.

The third phase will focus on senior citizens, persons with disabilities and disadvantaged communities through door-to-door outreach and additional camps.

The campaign will also facilitate PMJAY and MJPJAY card registrations at ration shops.

Community Health Volunteers and ASHA workers will help identify eligible beneficiaries, with eligibility checked through ration cards and e-KYC.

Medical Health Officers will oversee implementation, while Assistant Commissioners and Deputy Municipal Commissioners will monitor progress across administrative divisions.

BMC Commissioner Ashwini Bhide has directed officials to encourage citizen participation, while Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Prajakta Verma has called for wider ABHA registrations and HFR and HPR enrolment.
