Dharamshila Narayana Hospital Unveils Advanced 3D Mammography System

Equipped with fully digital technology, the system enables early detection, making cancer screening more accessible across economic backgrounds and reducing late-stage breast cancer cases.

Dharamshila Narayana Superspeciality Hospital in New Delhi has unveiled a state-of-the-art 3D mammography system, coinciding with Cancer Survivor Month.

During the inauguration, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched a comprehensive, free women's cancer screening programme and announced the hospital's integration into the Ayushman Bharat scheme.

The new 3D mammography unit offers precise breast screenings using minimal radiation. Equipped with fully digital technology, the system enables early detection, making cancer screening more accessible across economic backgrounds and reducing late-stage breast cancer cases. 

Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said, “This unit is specially designed for the early detection of breast cancer in women, enabling timely treatment. Equipped with fully digital technology, the unit ensures quick and accurate diagnosis using the latest medical equipment.”

“Cancer is a disease that causes emotional turmoil for entire families when it strikes. However, advancements in medical science today have made early detection and effective treatment possible,” she added.

Speaking at the launch, Dr Emmanuel Rupert, Managing Director and Group CEO of Narayana Health, outlined the initiative’s scope of providing 5,000 free pap smear tests and 5,000 mammograms, clinical breast exams, cervical cancer screenings, and lifestyle counselling for underprivileged women and Ayushman Bharat beneficiaries.

He also announced a mobile diagnostic unit to deliver mammograms and lab tests to underserved areas in Delhi.

In a similar development, Sir H N Reliance Foundation Hospital recently launched South Asia’s first Genius AI 3D Mammography system to boost breast cancer screening in the region.

The diagnostic tool combines advanced imaging technology with artificial intelligence to deliver faster, more accurate breast cancer detection.
