Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Unveils Next-Gen HIMS to Digitize City’s Healthcare

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta has unveiled a next-generation Hospital Information Management System (HIMS) developed in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.

The launch marks a major leap toward a paperless, transparent, and digitally connected healthcare ecosystem for Delhi.

The advanced HIMS platform integrates 20 digital modules, including OPD/IPD registration, electronic medical records, diagnostics, pharmacy, inventory, and real-time dashboards across government hospitals.

“This system will connect hospitals, doctors, and patients on a single digital platform, ensuring transparency and efficiency,” Gupta said.

She added that Delhi has already created over 93 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) IDs to support digital health records and streamline care delivery.

Alongside the HIMS rollout, the CM also inaugurated 34 new Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and 8 Jan Aushadhi Kendras across the city. These community health centers will offer primary care, maternal-child services, immunization, wellness counselling, and yoga. The Kendras will provide affordable medicines to citizens.

“This is a historic step toward a fully digitized healthcare system,” said Delhi Health Minister Dr Pankaj Kumar Singh, adding that patients will now be able to book appointments, access lab results, and request ambulances digitally.

According to the CM, 68 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs have gone operational in just a month, showcasing the government’s pace in executing its health vision.
