In a move to further enhance its services, the Government has introduced a video consultation feature, complementing the existing audio call option.
Additionally, a dedicated Tele-MANAS Cell has been established at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune, aimed at providing tele-mental health assistance to Armed Forces personnel and their dependents.
On October 10, 2024, coinciding with World Mental Health Day, the Tele-MANAS Mobile Application was launched, providing a comprehensive platform for mental health resources. The application has been expanded to support 10 additional regional languages including Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, and Punjabi, in addition to the previously available English and Hindi.
The Tele-MANAS Mobile Application also prioritizes accessibility, featuring a user-friendly interface designed for visually challenged individuals and offering a toll-free phone line that does not require screen use. This initiative aims to provide mental health services to a broader audience, ensuring that help is available to those in need.
