Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has announced that 1,69,000 Ayushman cards are ready for distribution.
These cards enable lakhs of senior citizens aged 70 and above to access health coverage of INR 5 lakh under the Vay Vandana Yojana (VVY).
The scheme is open to all seniors above 70, regardless of their financial status.
The CM also revealed plans to establish 1,139 Arogya Mandirs across Delhi, with 14-15 centers allocated per assembly constituency, to provide accessible healthcare services.
The announcement followed meetings with cabinet ministers, public representatives, and department officials to expedite the distribution of Ayushman Arogya Cards. Cabinet ministers Ashish Sood, Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Ravinder Indraraj Singh, and Dr Pankaj Singh were among those present during the meeting.

The CM further emphasized prioritizing citizens between 70 and 79 years of age due to their increased medical needs.
The proposed 1,139 Arogya Mandirs will offer general health consultations, awareness programs, primary care, and preventive medicines.
District magistrates and public representatives have been instructed to identify suitable government locations for these facilities.
The program also includes plans for nine critical care blocks and one integrated public health laboratory in each district.
Recently, Union Health Minister JP Nadda launched the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana in Odisha.
The initiative aims to provide healthcare benefits to approximately 3.5 crore people in Odisha, covering 1.3 crore families.
