Aster DM Healthcare Plans to Expand Capacity to 7,800 Beds

The expansion is backed by ₹2,600 crore capital expenditure, of which around ₹400 crore has already been deployed towards infrastructure and development.

Aster DM Healthcare has announced plans to expand its bed capacity across India. The hospital is already operating 5,199 beds, including 8,99 in Andhra Pradesh.

The chain plans to add another 2,632 beds, further taking the total to approximately 7,800.

The expansion is backed by INR 2,600 crore capital expenditure, of which around INR 400 crore has already been deployed towards infrastructure and development.

Further, the company’s financial trajectory over the last five years recorded a roughly 20% CAGR in revenues, reaching INR 41,380 million in FY25, and 38% CAGR in operating EBITDA to INR 8,060 million in FY25, which demonstrated its operational strength alongside expansion.

Last year, the healthcare chain had also announced a merger with Quality Care India Limited (QCIL), which, once approved, will further boost its reach and is expected to strengthen Aster’s standing as one of India’s top three hospital operators by capacity.

Following the merger, the combined company is projected to scale up its bed facility to more than 14,1910, which aims to enhance its outreach in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities.

Moreover, during a recent UAE visit, Founder Chairman Dr Azad Moopen and MD & Group CEO Alisha Moopen met N. Chandrababu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, to discuss the company’s investment plans and healthcare opportunities in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Dr Moopen, while emphasizing the significance of healthcare technology, said, “Our goal is not just to expand but to transform healthcare delivery through technology and strategic partnerships.”
