AIIMS Bhopal Unveils New Diagnostic System to Streamline Patient Outcome

The system's processing speed is more than 2,000 tests per hour, which is expected to reduce waiting times for patients, allowing faster diagnosis and more timely medical interventions

AIIMS Bhopal has officially installed the Cobas Pro Advanced Integrated Clinical Biochemistry system in its Department of Biochemistry to boost patient outcomes and improve test turnaround time.

As per reports, the system is the first of its kind to be installed in any public hospital across the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The newly installed device is reportedly able to perform over 230 types of clinical tests, covering a range of diagnostics such as blood sugar analysis, liver and kidney function, thyroid screening, cardiac biomarkers, vitamin levels, and cancer markers.

Further, the system's processing speed is more than 2,000 tests per hour, which is expected to reduce waiting times for patients, allowing faster diagnosis and more timely medical interventions.

About the Cobas Pro system

The system is built on a modular and scalable design, allowing multiple analytical units to be combined based on laboratory requirements and to streamline workflows.

Its high-throughput capacity enables faster processing of large volumes of samples, reducing turnaround times, allowing clinicians to make quicker decisions for patient care.

The system supports a wide menu of tests, including chemistry, immunoassays, and electrolytes, ensuring comprehensive diagnostic coverage within a single platform.

Further, the Automated calibration, reagent stability, and features like continuous loading minimize manual intervention, which is expected to reduce errors and operator workload.

Dr. Ashok Kumar, Professor at the Biochemistry Department, emphasizing the significance of the system, said that the Cobas Pro e800 is a fully integrated biochemical analyzer designed for high-precision output.
