AB-PMJAY Strengthens Digital Healthcare Delivery Across India with Odisha & Delhi Onboard
The eSanjeevani telemedicine initiative reportedly delivered more than 43 crore tele-consultations, facilitating access to specialists for patients in rural and remote areas
Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) has expanded its footprint across India, with Odisha and Delhi having formally signed agreements to implement the scheme.
With this development, the majority of Indian states are now included under AB-PMJAY.
This year saw increased adoption of digital health platforms supporting both preventive and curative care.
The eSanjeevani telemedicine initiative reportedly delivered more than 43 crore tele-consultations, facilitating access to specialists for patients in rural and remote areas.
Further, under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), over 84 crore ABHA accounts have been created, with tens of crores of medical records linked to the platform.
The inclusion of Odisha and Delhi is expected to further expand access to healthcare services and potentially reduce out-of-pocket expenses for families.
In addition, the scheme has integrated several AI-based tools, including the Clinical Decision Support System (CDSS) linked with e-Sanjeevani, disease surveillance under the Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme, AI-driven diabetic retinopathy screening, and tools supporting tuberculosis detection and management.
