UP Expands ABDM Integration as ABHA Adoption Surges Past 14.3 Crore

More than 14.3 crore have already been registered on the ABHA platform, which seeks to connect patients, doctors, laboratories, hospitals, and pharmacies on a single digital platform.

The Uttar Pradesh government has intensified efforts to strengthen access to public health services with the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and has ensured that every patient visiting a government hospital is connected to the ABHA.

This move has been positioned as a major step toward creating a unified digital health ecosystem across the state under ABDM.

Through ABHA, those enrolled can securely access their health record at any place and time via the mobile application. A unique digital health identity will be issued to each citizen, which can be utilized anywhere in the country with their consent.

More than 14.3 crore have already been registered on the ABHA platform, which seeks to connect patients, doctors, laboratories, hospitals, and pharmacies on a single digital platform.

ASHA workers have been doing door-to-door registrations to increase the coverage of ABHA, while citizens can also create their accounts directly through the ABHA site using Aadhaar authentication.

For those whose Aadhaar is not linked to a mobile number, biometric verification at the nearest ABDM-registered health facility has been made available.

Registration using facial recognition is also enabled on the ABHA and Aarogya Setu applications.

According to ABDM Nodal In-charge Dr Mohit Singh, the Healthcare Professionals Registry has crossed 1,00,000 registered specialists across the country-from doctors, nurses and paramedics to other certified providers.

More than 70,000 health facilities in the public and private sectors, including hospitals, clinics, diagnostic centres, laboratories and pharmacies within both modern and traditional systems of medicine, have joined the ABDM network.

Dr Mohit has said that the priority now is to ensure that every arriving patient at any government hospital is linked to ABHA and that ongoing work is focused on connecting laboratories and pharmacies to support smoother digital workflows.
