79.71 Cr ABHA Accounts Created, Over 65 Cr Health Records Linked: Govt Tells Lok Sabha

eSanjeevani has crossed 39 crore consultations, supported by over 2.24 lakh doctors and staff.

Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav informed the Lok Sabha in a written reply on Friday that 79.71 crore Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) accounts had been created as of July 28, 2025, and approximately 65.09 crore health records had been linked.

He also stated that around 4.17 lakh health facilities have been registered under the Health Facility Registry (HFR), and about 6.76 lakh healthcare professionals are enlisted on the platform. Of these, 3,20,973 facilities, spread across 771 districts, are equipped with ABDM-enabled software.

“The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM) has been launched to create an online platform enabling the interoperability of health data within the health ecosystem to form a longitudinal electronic health record of every citizen,” Jadhav stated.

Regarding categorizing facilities as rural or urban, Jadhav clarified that the HFR does not capture whether a health facility is in a rural or metropolitan area.

To support areas with poor internet connectivity, the government has implemented offline modes for ABHA account creation, ensuring citizens in low-connectivity regions are not left out of the digital health ecosystem.

eSanjeevani telemedicine crosses 39 crore consultations

Highlighting the role of telemedicine, Jadhav said, “The eSanjeevani is a national telemedicine service operational in 36 states and union territories (UTs), aimed at achieving universal health coverage (UHC).”

He explained that the platform is implemented in two variants: eSanjeevani AB-HWC and Ayushman Arogya Mandir (provider-to-provider) and eSanjeevani OPD (patient-to-provider), which function on a hub-and-spoke model.

As of July 28, 2025, the platform has facilitated consultations for over 39 crore patients. It is operational through 1,34,029 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, supported by 17,568 hubs and more than 719 online OPDs, and involves over 2.24 lakh healthcare providers, including doctors, specialists, and health workers.

Jadhav added that state governments are coordinating with telecom providers to improve broadband access at sub-health center levels under the Ayushman Arogya Mandir scheme.

A public dashboard (dashboard.abdm.gov.in) has also been created to track ABDM’s key performance indicators. With granular access to state, district, and hospital data, the dashboard aids in assessing and monitoring implementation progress.

“The digital health ecosystem created by ABDM supports continuity of care across primary, secondary, and tertiary healthcare seamlessly,” Jadhav noted.
