UnityAI Unveils Agentic AI for Smooth Operation of Outpatient Management
It enables scheduling and confirming patient visits, fielding calls, and following up on missed appointments
Nashville-based AI operations startup Unity AI, has launched specialized voice AI agents designed to assist outpatient clinics with scheduling, appointment confirmations, patient intake, and follow-ups.
This startup platform aims to reduce reliance on offshore call centers, offering a more cost-effective and context-aware solution.
Commenting on the innovation, UnityAI's CEO, Edmund Jackson, said, "What we've seen is the call centers have been centralized and often offshored, and that breaks the context of the people providing services, and it's also kind of a high cost.”
He added, “So what our agents do is they look at the functions that are performed there and replace them with agents”.
He further explained, “Voice AI agents have near unlimited capacity to answer and receive patient calls, and, for established patients, the AI agent on the other end of the line has context on the patients’ medical history. It can also engage with patients in 90 languages.”
The new AI platform is expected to address these challenges by providing near-unlimited capacity to handle patient calls and interactions. It enables scheduling and confirming patient visits, fielding calls, and following up on missed appointments.
Further, It can engage with patients in 90 languages and is integrated with patient medical histories for established users, ensuring personalized and efficient communication.
Reportedly, UnityAI powers approximately 150,000 interactions per month across various medical specialties.
The company focuses on automating operations in outpatient settings, which are more straightforward to contract with than larger hospital systems.
Also, in January 2024. UnityAI had raised a $4.5 million seed round led by Max Ventures and has raised $6.5 million to date. It is also backed by National Capital Networks and several healthcare-focused angel investors in Nashville, where the company is based.
