Solomon Islands Delegation Explores Advanced Medical Care & Collaboration Opportunities at Yashoda Medicity

Yashoda’s technology-enabled infrastructure and AI-enabled ICU Command Centre are further expected to strengthen its potential role in cross-border healthcare cooperation.

A delegation from the Solomon Islands recently visited Ghaziabad-based Yashoda Medicity to explore potential avenues for healthcare collaboration, with discussions focused on specialised medical care, clinical knowledge exchange, and improved access to advanced healthcare expertise.

The discussions between the two sides centred around potential areas for clinical cooperation and knowledge sharing, including specialist consultations, second opinions, professional training, and access to advanced treatment for complex medical conditions.

The delegation comprised H.E. Anthony Makabo, High Commissioner to India; Layten Jacob, Deputy Secretary Corporate, Ministry of Health and Medical Service; and Dr. George Wilson Malefoasi, Chief Executive Officer, National Referral Hospital, among other officials.

During the visit, the delegation interacted with a multidisciplinary panel of Yashoda Medicity specialists across medical oncology, radiation oncology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, urology, renal transplantation, robotic surgery, paediatric surgery, paediatric cardiothoracic surgery, haematology and bone marrow transplantation, among other specialties.

The delegation was also briefed on Yashoda Medicity’s Centres of Excellence and technology-enabled care.

Additionally, the discussion centred around Yashoda Medicity’s approach to managing complex cases through coordinated multidisciplinary care, with sessions covering oncology, robotic and minimally invasive surgery, transplantation, paediatric care and other specialised medical services.

Commenting on the new development, Dr. P.N. The visiting delegation also gained exposure to Yashoda Medicity’s multidisciplinary model, under which specialists from different disciplines work together on treatment planning for patients requiring complex medical and surgical interventions.

The discussions explored how clinical expertise and institutional capabilities could potentially support healthcare requirements in the Solomon Islands.

Its technology-enabled infrastructure, including advanced imaging and interventional radiology capabilities, robotic surgical facilities, and an AI-enabled ICU Command Centre supporting real-time critical care monitoring and remote clinical oversight, is further expected to strengthen its potential role in cross-border healthcare cooperation.

For Solomon, the engagement is intended to establish a potential avenue for stronger healthcare linkages between the Solomon Islands and India, particularly around specialised clinical expertise and advanced medical treatment.
