QCIL Partners with Intuitive to Scale Robotic-assisted Surgery Beyond Metros

The collaboration will enable phased deployment of robotic-assisted surgical systems across QCIL’s network, including CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH, and Evercare Hospitals.

QCIL has formalised a partnership with Intuitive to scale robotic-assisted surgery across its multi-brand network through a phased rollout of surgical systems, enabling broader access to minimally invasive procedures across emerging healthcare markets.

The collaboration will enable phased deployment of robotic-assisted surgical systems across QCIL’s network, including CARE Hospitals, KIMSHEALTH, and Evercare Hospitals.

With a growing footprint across India and neighbouring regions, the group has been focusing on strengthening advanced clinical infrastructure, particularly in cities beyond major metropolitan areas where access to high-end surgical technologies remains limited.

The agreement outlines a structured expansion plan, with multiple robotic systems to be deployed across QCIL facilities over time. These systems will support a wide range of specialities, including thoracic surgery, transplant, urology, gynaecology, general surgery, and surgical oncology.

The initiative is expected to enhance precision in surgical procedures while enabling faster recovery and reduced hospital stays for patients.

Globally, robotic-assisted surgery has gained traction as part of the broader shift toward minimally invasive care. A global technology leader, Intuitive, known for its da Vinci surgical systems, has supported millions of procedures worldwide and continues to expand its footprint in India, where adoption has steadily increased with over 200 installations and a growing base of trained surgeons.

Commenting on the collaboration, Varun Khanna, Group Managing Director, Quality Care India Limited, said, “Scaling robotic-assisted surgery across centres requires a structured approach that strengthens clinical capability and programme consistency. Through this collaboration, we will focus on building readiness across teams and specialities so that more patients can access advanced minimally invasive care closer to home as we expand into tier 2 and tier 3 markets."

“This initiative reflects our commitment to delivering world-class surgical infrastructure beyond metropolitan cities and improving access to high-end clinical interventions across India,” he added.

Rohitt Mahajan, Vice President and General Manager, Intuitive India, added, “We are pleased to collaborate with QCIL to expand robotic-assisted surgery capabilities. Together, we aim to broaden patient access to advanced care, enabling faster recovery and improved clinical outcomes.”

As part of the partnership, Intuitive will provide training, technical support, and ongoing guidance to surgeons and care teams, ensuring consistent adoption and standardisation across centres.
