New IT Initiatives to Strengthen Community Healthcare, says Haryana Health Minister

These programmes are designed to strengthen real-time oversight and improve the efficiency of public health interventions and better health outcomes across vulnerable populations.

Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao has announced a set of Information Technology initiatives aimed at improving community-level healthcare monitoring and resource management across the state.

According to Health Minister Rao, these IT-driven programmes are designed to strengthen accountability, transparency, and real-time oversight, improving the efficiency of public health interventions and ensuring better health outcomes across vulnerable populations.

Among the key initiatives, the government has introduced the Vehicle Tracking and Log Management System, a web-based application that tracks the movements of mobile health teams.

The system requires each team to record odometer readings and photographs at the start and end of the day, as well as at every visited site, which is expected to enable both district- and state-level administrators to monitor vehicle usage and team activity daily.

Further, the Health Minister has also announced the upgrade of existing programmes other programmes, such as the Anemia Mukt Haryana (AMH) application.

The application has been enhanced to capture more detailed information on beneficiaries’ treatment, referrals, and follow-up care.

Moreover, a new comprehensive real-time dashboard has been developed, which allows health officials to track anemia levels across the state, assess test results over time, and identify service delivery gaps with a focus on improving outcomes, especially among women and children.

In addition to this, the state has strengthened its child-health monitoring mechanisms under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) application, integrating with government and private hospitals to support early identification and treatment of congenital heart diseases in children.

The platform streamlines referrals and free-treatment processes by enabling timely identification of eligible children and coordinating their admission and care in empanelled government and private super-specialty hospitals.

Further, the platform has been integrated with the Women and Child Development Department via a new “Poshan Tracker” to strengthen monitoring of children’s nutrition and health.
