Nagaland Unveils Its First Fully Digital Health Model Facility at District Hospital Dimapur

The new ABDM Model Facility in Dimapur brings complete digitization, ABHA-linked services, scan-and-share records, and integration with HFR and HPR for seamless digital care in Nagaland.

Nagaland has accomplished a major stride in its digital health roadmap by inaugurating its first end-to-end digital health model facility at the District Hospital Dimapur.

The upgraded facility aims to digitize all the hospital operations and patient services, thereby aligning them with the core framework of ABDM.

The model facility integrates with the key building blocks of ABDM, specifically ABHA, the Health Facility Registry, and the Health Professional Registry.

ABHA-linked services will provide patients easy access to digitized records, better care coordination, and minimal paperwork. Digital infrastructure also ensures secure, interoperable data exchange across the health system.

According to ABDM Dashboard Insights on 1 December 2025, Dimapur leads Nagaland in various digital health adoption indicators, with the highest number of registered health facilities-582 on the HFR, the highest count of ABHA IDs created at 2.5 lakh, and 609 verified health professionals listed on the HPR.

In addition, Dimapur has recorded 94 scan-and-share tokens, reflecting early uptake of the digital workflow in the district.

Commissioner and Secretary, Health and Family Welfare, and State Mission Director, ABDM, Anoop Khinchi, noted that the model facility would serve as a model for integrating modern infrastructure, digital tools, and enhanced patient care.

He highlighted the scan-and-share feature of ABDM, noting it as a transformative tool that enables patients to seamlessly share their health records with doctors, ensuring faster, safer, and more coordinated treatment.
